UK Minister visits the Drone Competence Center

During an official visit to Latvia, on Wednesday, 28 January, the UK Minister of State for Europe, North America and Overseas Territories, Stephen Doughty, visited the Autonomous Systems Competence Center together with Latvia’s Minister of Defence, Andris Sprūds.

During the meeting, the ministers discussed expanding bilateral cooperation between the two countries, with particular focus on strengthening and further developing the international Drone Coalition. They also addressed military support to Ukraine, as well as cooperation within the Joint Expeditionary Force, where Latvia works alongside the United Kingdom and other NATO allies to enhance regional security and rapid response capabilities.

At the same time, the Autonomous Systems Competence Center hosted an exhibition of autonomous system solutions developed by Latvian companies, showcasing air, maritime, and land-based systems.
