To test the individual equipment issuance process in a real mission environment and develop effective sustainment solutions for future operations, specialists from the Warehouse Department of the State Defence Logistics and Procurement Centre (VALIC) travelled to Pristina, Kosovo, in early May 2025.

The purpose of the trip was to test the issuance of individual equipment to National Armed Forces personnel serving in the NATO-led KFOR contingent.

This proved a valuable experience for refining VALIC's capabilities to deliver an effective, timely, and high-quality defence resource supply chain beyond Latvia's borders. The team gained critical insights to adapt to on-site conditions as needed and deepen understanding of logistics management in crisis and peacetime scenarios.

We learn, adapt, and grow to professionally support Latvia's Armed Forces in any situation.

The NATO-led international operation in Kosovo began in June 1999 following prolonged ethnic conflict in the Balkans region. Its primary missions involve establishing and maintaining a safe environment that ensures freedom of movement across Kosovo for all citizens, regardless of ethnicity.

Latvia's largest Armed Forces contingent currently serves in the NATO KFOR operation.
