VALIC saņem ISO kvalitātes un vides pārvaldības sertifikātus
The State Centre for Defence Logistics and Procurement (VALIC) has received the internationally recognised ISO 9001 Quality Management System and ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certificates. They confirm that the integrated management system implemented by the Centre meets the requirements of both standards and mark an important step in improving VALIC’s operational processes.
The implementation of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 is part of VALIC’s ongoing efforts to improve its processes and strengthen the quality of management. “In defence logistics and procurement, well-organised processes, clear responsibilities and the ability to identify and address potential risks in a timely manner are essential,” says head of the centre, Lieutenant Colonel Alans Andrulis.
The ISO 9001 Quality Management System provides a structured approach to planning, carrying out and evaluating processes, while supporting continuous improvement. The ISO 14001 Environmental Management System helps systematically identify andmanage the environmental aspects of the Centre’s operations, promoting the responsible use of resources.
The implementation of both standards promotes a consistent approach to process management across the Centre, strengthens cooperation between departments and helps clarify employees’ duties and responsibilities. Regular process reviews and audits make it possible to identify areas for improvement and monitor compliance with established requirements.
The certification was carried out by AS “Kiwa Latvia”, confirming that the implemented integrated management system meets the requirements of the relevant international standards.
VALIC is an institution directly subordinate to the Ministry of Defence. It was established on 1 January 2021 to ensure the full life cycle management of material and technical resources and centralised procurement across the defence sector. VALIC’s main responsibility is to ensure that the needs of the National Armed Forces are met efficiently, with the necessary supplies delivered continuously, at the right time and in the required quantities.
